About

Type of work: Matte Painting

This shot was constructed entirely from scratch when I was tasked with recreating the city of Frankfurt as viewed by Heidi from the church tower. I was provided with an extensive collection of photographs from a German village, which served as the foundation for assembling this much larger urban environment. The process involved a painstaking integration of every photographic element, working methodically building by building to achieve maximum realism and do justice to this pivotal narrative moment.

The entire endeavor required a full month of dedicated work, but I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. Creating urban environments from the ground up represents one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession, allowing me to blend technical precision with creative vision to bring fictional or historical cityscapes to life.
