THE HUMAN TOUCH IN AN AUTOMATED ERA

"Conviction is a luxury only those not involved can afford"

Working daily with both “good old” digital painting and AI-enhanced workflows has given me valuable insight into where the industry is heading. The landscapes of design, image creation, and visual effects are evolving in fascinating directions. New tools are transforming how we work, but not quite in the form the initial hype suggested. AI and virtual production offer genuine capabilities, yet the reality is more nuanced than "faster and cheaper." Technology hasn't eliminated the need for human expertise - it's redirected where we apply our skills. AI tools generate impressive drafts that still need 100% manual refinement, artistic judgment and technical knowledge to reach professional standards. "One-click" solutions often create cleanup work as intensive as traditional methods. The craft lies in knowing how to guide algorithm, when to override it, and how to elevate raw output into polished work that serves the story.

My response isn't resistance—it's evolution

I'm integrating AI tools where they genuinely enhance my workflow, but I'm not abandoning the fundamentals that make work resonate. This is why my approach emphasises what remains irreplaceable: strong fundamentals, conceptual thinking, and the ability to finish what the tools start. I've built my practice on traditional painting and design principles - composition, lighting, atmospheric storytelling and functionality - because these foundations don't become obsolete when software updates. Whether I'm working entirely by hand or integrating AI into my workflow, the artistic vision, problem-solving, and attention to detail remain 100% human.

What I bring to the table:

Strong fundamentals as pillars through the change of times

Hybrid workflows that combine traditional craft with intelligent tool usage

Honest assessment of what works, what doesn't, and what's actually required to finish

Conceptual approach and storytelling that algorithms struggle to replicate

Adaptability without sacrificing the human touch that makes work meaningful

The future belongs to those who can navigate both worlds

I'm not just surviving this transition - I'm actively shaping my practice for it. Leaning into what makes human creativity valuable. Showing my process. Telling my story. Connecting with people who understand that authentic work requires authentic effort. Bringing irreplaceable human judgment to every creative decision. Building relationships with clients who care about craft, not just speed. Let’s not forget - Slow is Precise. Precise, in the end, is Fast. AI has changed the tools, but artists have always adapted. The demand for thoughtful, handcrafted visual storytelling remains strong. I'm here for it.

What Differentiates My Approach

I call out scope traps early. I'm honest about what's genuinely faster versus what creates hidden costs, understanding when traditional techniques and emerging tools are appropriate. New softwares don’t make me lazy - I finish what the AI breaks with senior-level judgment about what's actually required to hit professional standards. The demand is shifting, not disappearing. Clients who value intentional, handcrafted work are seeking artists who can deliver both creative excellence and technical adaptability, who stay flexible, visible, and true to their creative voice. I'm positioning myself for this evolving landscape by mastering the fundamentals while staying current with emerging tools - understanding that the future belongs to creatives who can navigate both worlds thoughtfully.
