About

Type of work: Matte Painting

This is a fully digital matte painting capturing the shores of the Red Sea where Moses and the Hebrew people have assembled, desperately seeking passage to the other side. The scene depicts the miraculous moment when the waters begin to recede in powerful currents, igniting hope among the masses.

My work involved painting the surrounding mountain landscape and meticulously creating both the exposed dry terrain and the detailed underwater topography beneath. This dual-layer approach was essential to ensure that when the digital 3D water effects were added later on, they would interact realistically with the environment and reveal all the intricate underlying geological details of the seabed, creating a convincing and immersive scene.
