Type of work: Illustration

I was commissioned to create an illustration drawn from George R.R. Martin’s A World of Ice and Fire for an exhibition in Berlin. Given a selection of various locations from the fictional universe, I chose to depict the city of Norvos for my contribution to the showcase.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ 

The city would appear as a tiered settlement rising up hillsides, with the massive bell towers and temple complexes creating a distinctive skyline that’s both imposing and sacred, wrapped by thick layers of smoke or mist rising from temple incense and city activities.

The illustration was created using digital matte painting techniques.
