Type of work: Matte Painting

One of the most complex and yet most fun matte paintings I've ever worked on. With a clear design in mind, I built from scratch every element in the scene, placing the screens strategically to make it look like this devilish character is visually assaulting the actor without rendering the image a chaotic mess.

Since I was continuously receiving updated versions of the little villain's appearance and poses, I developed an efficient Photoshop workflow that enabled me to plug in these new elements in the screens making them go straight into position to keep the same perspective and distortion throughout. I'm grateful this system worked well, as it would have otherwise resulted in a significantly more time-consuming process.

Adding the finishing details was particularly satisfying - the neon signage, promotional banners, and lighting effects all contributed to creating a poster that feels both menacing and quirky, perfectly capturing the desired tone.
