Type of work: Concept Design

This is the earliest concept sketch for the city of Rhuidean. While the design never appears as a full‑frame shot in the episode, the atmosphere and visual language I established here became the basis for the 3‑D environments and set extensions that later reveal the buildings.

The brief called for a design rooted in Russian brutalism, but I pushed the scale beyond its typical limits to evoke an ancient sense of grandeur and vastness. To soften the starkness, I introduced subtle, flowing shapes that give the city its own distinct character. Fog—an essential detail taken straight from the book—was layered throughout, helping to bind all the elements together and reinforce the overall mood.
