About
Type of work: Concept Design
This is a good example of a complete concept-to-matte-painting workflow. I began by sketching and designing multiple versions for the imaginary entrance hall at Heide Park, Germany. After refining the selected design, I was asked to bring the scene to the next stage, so I built it as a 3D model and established the digital lighting setup.
I then textured the entire environment using matte painting techniques, creating realistic surface details and atmospheric elements. The finished 3D scene was subsequently delivered to the compositor, who integrated the live-action actors and applied final magical effects to complete the sequence. This comprehensive approach allowed for precise control over both the architectural design and the final cinematic result.
