Type of work: Matte Painting

Created for Travel Oregon's "Extraordinary is Ordinary" campaign, this project required assembling Oregon's major landmarks into a natural and cohesive composition while achieving a distinctive painterly aesthetic. The process began with gathering the most suitable photos for each landmark, which I then used to create a photorealistic matte painting foundation.

Once the composition was finalised and approved, I moved on to the next phase: meticulously hand-painting over the entire image to transform the photographic base into an artistic interpretation.

The painting shows the view of the tag line “There’s water all around”. Several of Portland’s iconic bridges take center stage, but look closer and you’ll see that Mt. Hood, Paulina Falls, Crater Lake, the Willamette Valley and the Rogue River also appear in the background. Last touches painted by Brett Stenson.
